Supplements
Taking supplements can be
a key part of recovering from depression. Eating
'properly' can be difficult when you are feeling well;
but when you
are depressed, eating healthily can be really
hard. As a result, you may have nutrition
deficiencies that can make healing your depression
harder.
Multivitamin
At a minimum, take a
multivitamin every day. This will give you a range
of basic vitamins and minerals that you may not be
getting through the food you are eating.
Vitamin B
Take a vitamin B compound
supplement which contains several types of vitamin
B.
Folate (one of the B
vitamins) help keeps homocysteine level healthy.
Studies have connected high homocysteine levels to a
higher likelihood of depression.
Vitamin C
Taking a vitamin C
supplement (with magnesium to increase absorption) could
help you fight off infections and colds, which you may
be more susceptible to when you are depressed.
